الانترنت الخفي هو مساحة كبيرة لعالم الجريمة وعالم تداول المعلومات السرية بكل ما تحمله الكلمة من معنى ، حيث نجد بداخله مواقع لبيع الأشياء الممنوعة قانونيا كالمخدرات وتجارة السلاح وتجارة الأعضاء وإستئجار قتلة مأجورين ، إضافة إلى مواقع لبيع الأشياء المسروقة وبطاقات الانترنت المزيفة أو المسروقة، وتعلم جميع أساليب الإختراق,,, الخ.
ماذا يوجد في الانترنت الخفي :
محتوى الإنترنت الخفي يتكون باختصار من مجموعة من قواعد البيانات التي تحوي على مستندات أكاديمية، طبية، أمنية أو حكومية، وهي قواعد بيانات لا يمكن لمحركات البحث فهرستها وبالتالي يجب أن يمتلك المستخدم صلاحيات للاطلاع على محتواها.
داخل الإنترنت الخفي هناك جزء يعرف بالإنترنت المظلم الذي تم التعتيم عليه بقصد منع الوصول إليه عن طريق الصدفة أو دون غاية محددة. يمكن تقسيم الإنترنت إلى ثلاثة أقسام رئيسية، الجزء السطحي الذي نستخدمه حاليا، الجزء الخفي الذي لا يمكن الوصول إليه بالطرق العادية، بالإضافة إلى جزء مظلم داخل الجزء الخفي.
